Today's Bridge: There was a bit of a fiasco when Ken opened 1S and jumped to 3S when I had S 9 H A-10-x-x D 10-8-x-x C Q-9-x-x - I felt I had to bid 3NT, but both contracts were about equally good. Sadly, the spade split was 5-1 and there was nothing we could do in either contract. Other than that, we were in good shape. I overcalled Jerry's 1C with 1NT with S A-K-x-x H A-Q-x-x D K-x C Q-x-x, which is a flimsy stopper at best, and Ken used Stayman to get us to 4H with S x H J-x-x-x D Q-10-x-x-x C K-x-x. Much weaker than I expected, but I made it. The opening club lead ran to my queen, so I led the king of diamonds, which held, and led another diamond to the ten, which also won. I saw little option but to continue with a low diamond, which brought the ace and jack while I threw off a club. Jerry led a spade, so I took it, cashed the ace of hearts, and led the queen, which brought down the king. It was a simple matter to win the spade return, cross to the jack of hearts (capturing the ten), and throw my last club and a spade on the established diamonds. I also made a 2S opener with a five-card diamond suit on the side, headed by the ten. Ken had two diamonds to the jack and just one spade, but by attacking the diamonds before pulling trump, I established a couple of winners while I still had trump to get to them. Jerry helped by cashing his queen.

Today's Work: I finally set up an account for a service we really need, and we decided to re-upload the work we've done so far, tying it to our ticketing system in a way that wasn't done the first time around. It'll be highly beneficial in the long run, and we can use the new system to do reviews and capture the results.

I got home to find the package with my CPAP supplies. I changed the way-overdue filter, but I figured it would be best to wash the mask before using it, and it wasn't going to dry by bedtime. I'll swap that tomorrow.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
