Today's Bridge: I partnered Bruce for a pretty strange collection of hands. In the first hand, I had S x-x H Q-x-x-x D x-x C K-x-x-x-x, which was pretty much the kind of garbage I would have all day. Ken opened 1D to my right, Kevin jumped to 2H, Ken raised to 3H, Kevin went back to 4D, Ken bid Blackwood 4NT, Kevin bid 5C (not knowing whether it was Roman Key Card Blackwood, and if so, in which suit), Ken tried to close in 5D, and Kevin raised to 6D. I was tempted to double, but I'm glad I didn't, because they might have made 6H. Instead, I led a heart for Bruce to ruff, and he cashed the ace of clubs to set the contract, the only play that would have done it. They made up for it in our goulash hand, though, after Bruce opened 1C and then rebid 2C with two whole clubs in his hand. He didn't make that one, by a long shot. I finally got to open 1NT with S A-K-x H A-x D Q-J-x-x C Q-x-x-x-x or so, but Kevin ended up declaring 2NT and we only set him by one trick. In the very final hand, I had S A-x H Q-x-x-x D A-K C A-K-10-x-x, so I opened 2NT, Bruce bid 3D, and I closed in 3NT. Bruce had all of S J-x-x-x-x D J-x-x-x-x C x-x-x to offer me for his bid, which means I had that exact distribution opposite his heart void in the first and last hands. Obviously, it was a bit of a disaster - fortunately, Ken had the king of hearts, so they got the first three hearts and Kevin pitched to my queen to set up his fifth heart. I saw no choice but to pitch in clubs, but Kevin took the queen, ran his heart (I threw the losing spade), and finally led a diamond. Sadly, his clubs were Q-J, so had I cashed the top two, I would have made the contract, but that wasn't really an option. Things can't go much worse tomorrow.

Today's Work: I finished the line item I've been working on all this time and did some training that may or may not have been due. It's a relief.

Less of a relief is my physical condition. Tonight's dose of Miralax may have been too much. I ate a banana, but didn't want to compound the problem with any other medication. The weird stomach sensation was still there today, but very muted. If it's still there tomorrow, then something's definitely wrong beyond what the doctor found the first time. Not much I can do about any of it now.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
